FIFTH WEEK OF TEACHING PRACTICE
Week 5: Diving Deeper into Science Concepts
This week in my teaching practice, I focused on expanding students' understanding of fundamental and derived quantities. In my 8G class, we explored the concepts of density and the volume rule for writing units. I made sure to emphasize the importance of these principles in scientific calculations and how they are used in real-world applications. To make the lesson engaging, I incorporated hands-on activities that allowed students to apply these concepts practically.
In my 8E class, we delved into the separation of mixtures and distillation. We reviewed various methods of separating mixtures and then focused on distillation as a key technique. I used demonstrations and practical examples to illustrate how distillation works and why it's a vital process in many industries. The students seemed to grasp the concepts well, and their enthusiasm was evident during the practical demonstrations.
Overall, this week was productive as students actively participated and showed a growing interest in understanding these fundamental scientific concepts.
