SECOND WEEK OF TEACHING PRACTICE
Week 2: Exploring Matter and Measuring Length
Class 8E: Properties of Matter
This week, I introduced the students of 8E to the fascinating world of matter. We began with the concept of tiny particles that make up all matter, setting a foundation for understanding the different states of matter: solids, liquids, and gases. To make the topic engaging, we discussed everyday examples and conducted simple experiments demonstrating how matter changes states. The students were particularly intrigued by the idea that everything around them is composed of these tiny particles.
Class 8G: Understanding Physical Quantities
In 8G, our focus was on the physical quantity of length. We covered the basics, including its definition and the standard units of measurement. To make the lesson more interactive, I brought in various measuring tools like rulers, measuring tapes, and meter sticks, allowing the students to practice measuring different objects. This hands-on approach helped them grasp the importance of accuracy and consistency in measurement.
Overall, it was a productive week with both classes actively participating and showing a keen interest in the topics. I look forward to building on this foundation in the coming weeks.
